that's happened to me mike! there's actually a metal plate inside the spoiler, and the nuts are welded into that (or something). one of my nuts stripped out. i suggest u don't stuff with the spoiler until you've exhausted all other possibilities - it's a real pain in the *** to get it off. work out if it's your seals, etc first.

also, with the catches, make sure that the catch housings aren't bolted too tightly to the body - if they are, it can cause the catches to bind and not spring closed properly.

Hmmm........i just found that the passenger side catch housing bolt is missing. But if i don;t make them tight, wouldn't they break lose?

i assume u mean one of them, seeing as there are two . i didn't say don't make them tight, i said don't make them *too* tight. the housings are quite soft, so if you overtighten it the housing will compress and then the catch will bind. they can be plenty tight enough to hold them in place with no dramas, without compressing the housing .

Now the rear hatch sounds bad. Ot is not squeeking, it sounds rather like the glass is getting contact with the body
