Default New Purchase 1986 944 Turbo

I decided to purchase this 1986 944 Turbo. I last owned one of these gems in the late 80’s. I have always loved these cars.

I currently also own a 997.2 Turbo which is an amazing car as well.

Love the color - same as mine Such a great car...

edit - after reviewing the vid, very clean and original! Great find and appears to be unmolested

It looks really nice. The "turbo" badge on the rear looks a bit small.

It does. I ordered the correct one and will put it on when the car arrives from Florida. Those are minor details. I also ordered the porsche decal that goes on rear.

It actually looks like the same size that my 997.2 Turbo has. One of the previous owners must have changed it out. I did order a new correct one from the dealership along with some other parts for this car.

I will probably end up selling the phone dial wheels and getting something else for it.

The Turbo badge that originally came on the car is stuck on the airbox.

Car was picked up by the transport company today.

Now for the long road trip from Florida to Southern California.

Some of the parts I ordered are here.

Momo Monte Carlo 350mm leather steering wheel, OEM clear front turn signals, and the correct Turbo badge for the rear.

Momo Monte Carlo 350mm leather steering wheel since I don’t like the one currently on the car. Clear front turn signals from FVD, and the correct OEM Turbo badge for the rear.

I’ve heard some good things about these Holley Retrobright LED headlights. I got the modern white 5700k’s.

That’s awesome.

I saw that car for sale this past year as well. Nice 1986. I have a good 86 as well.

BTW you mentioned you may swap up wheels. I’ll throw in a vote for the 86 specific 951 Fuchs which are -- IMO -- the absolute best looking wheels imaginable for a 951. 1 year only. The stance when spec’d with Fuchs is unbelievable in person. Very 70’s racer look. Love it.

Yes, I’m a Fuchs pusher.

I have been looking at Fuchs wheels since they are my favorite wheel for a Porsche next to BBS E88’s which I have on my 997.2 Turbo.

Finding them with the correct 16x8 +23.5 offsets for the rears has been extremely challenging.

The 16x7 +23.5 fronts are much easier to attain for sure. We shall see. There are some nice Fuchs reps out there as well which is an option.
