Venting to ATM does not reduce crankcase pressure. The stock setup essentially routes the hose from the crankcase to before the turbo so you are using the vacuum before the turno to essentially suck the pressure out of the crankcase, whereas if you vent it to ATM you are just allowing the pressure to bleed off rather than pulling a vacuum.

Basically the stock setup explains some of the oil in your intake manifold, IC pipes, and Intercooler. Something I dont wont.

seat way to do it is to get an air compressor filter wicha has a baffeling system...real simeple and you get to use the stock system setup and have the use of the sucktion of your turbo....does the $80 kit have a baffeling or fitering system before returning to intake?

on the sight, it says the internal walls have grooves, or baffeling or something to not allow the oil to climb up the wall. so this 80 dollar kit is good then? still utilizes the suction, but catches oil?
group buy anyone???

I have looked into that catch can. It seems like a nice unit. Similar to the Greddy units.

One drawback is that it has 3/8" fittings and the hose that it would splice into is 5/8" ID...I think...that or 3/4". TonyG tapped his Greddy unit for larger fittings.

Can someone confirm the hose size?

Thanks,
Max

when my dad gets home i will take pics of the fittings and stuff.
as the turbo i have no idea how you would keep pressure from coming in...but yes.
this cans cap screws off and there is what seems to be like brillo pad material but thicker. like a metal mesh.

just the other day i pulled about 3 oz of oil out of the drain hole!!
and when i checked the line to the intake...no oil!!!!

this kit is very ligit and i recomend it!

Allright, I'll contact these guys about a group buy and if they say yes, I'll talk with John D. and with his blessing, I'll post it up here.

Campeck-

What are you referring to on the check valve? Could you elaborate?

Thanks,
Max
