Talking Fixed loose shifter

I finally did it. I fixed the side to side slop in my shifter.

It is so nice to be able to get the feeddback from the shifter. all it took was a grinder and a welder. it is so simple:

1. grind off the old weld and tap the pin out
2. get a 3/8 bolt and weld the head to the shifter.
3. put a lock nut on it and you are done.

no need to jack up the car

I went a little above and beond and put some braze on the pin the filed it to an exact fit, this way the braze will wear instead of the shift rod and it is a PERFECT fit.

If you have a loose shifter I recomend you do this $1.00 fix and if you dont have the tools bug a friend and use his.

I know that there is an illustrated how to somewhere, anyone know where?

How about filling the space between the shifter pin (on the side) and the shift tube with silicon? it can be removed when needed or is that just too much?
