I’m trying to track down an ‘89 white / burgundy 951 that was presented for sale in Northwest Wisconsin in ‘91/‘92. If anyone has insight into the whereabouts of this specific vehicle, I’m all ears! Many thanks

Can't really help but apparently there were 1385 944 turbo to US in 1989 so ... white on burgundy will be rare (source = https://rennlist.com/forums/944-turb...roduction.html)

Anecdotally I can tell you that most of the white 89's have blue leather (which came in a couple different shades) or a black leather interior. (unlike for example 86 944 Turbos, of which there seem to be a ton of white on burgundy 1986 / 1987 cars - I know as I have one). Here are a few

Many thanks - I suppose it could be the one from BaT, since the location info starts in '91 (so it could have been in Wisconsin prior to that owner), but obviously tough to say.

Not sure how good of a story it is, but I was in college when I stumbled upon the car I'm talking about. I was dead broke at the time, and completely shocked to see a vehicle of that profile (you've got to remember, that, at that point, the '88 S / '89 turbo provided performance scratching that of the super cars of the day) in a fairly quiet Wisconsin town, parked in front of a local business with a 'for sale' sign in the window. I went back and visited it frequently to gawk and, read the review Car & Driver had done (which I had kept because it was my dream car) over and over. Then, it was gone. Back in that era, I never would have even thought to take a photo, and it didn't cross my mind to jot down the VIN.

While white normally wouldn't be my first choice, I still love those cars, and am a little less broke now - I search listings fairly regularly, and I always wonder what happened to that specific example. Tbh, I don't recall if it had plates or not, so maybe it was never titled in Wisconsin, but, other than the color combo and timeframe, that location is the only other tangible fact that I have about the vehicle. The last time I rolled through town (during COVID), I drove past the area it had been displayed just in case it would be back almost 30 yrs later (no luck, of course). I suspect that, if it remains road-going, it is a shell of its former self, and / or heavily modified...but I do dream that just maybe it's still largely stock, in great shape with reasonably low miles, and owned by someone that is ready to move on. Finding it would be one of those full-circle moments.
