Do you ever sleep Tony? What 911 model did you end up getting? HP target?

No.. I don't sleep much. Not lately. I get, if I'm lucky, about 5 hours per day sleep (typically it's 4 hours per day).

Glad to hear the 60-1HiFi is working out. I knew you'd like it.

I bought a 1982 911SC light metalic blue. Very nice. This is my daily driver. I'm in the process of installing 7"/9" factory turbo Fuchs, rebuilding the entire engine/transmission (not that it needed it... just becuase), and more..... a fun car for sure. However... it's by no means a 951..... make no mistake.. but it's a great driving car none-the-less... (really fun to drive).

I'm also building a 2.5L track 951 for Willow Springs. Got the entire suspension setup (coil overs, sway bars, torsion bar delete), 2004 996TT front/rear brakes (calipers and rotors), 3" turbo back exhaust, K27/6, 72lbs injectors, Pro-M, 75mm Bullet, custom chips, intercooler pipes, Tial 46mm waastegate, etc..

And we're working on a larger engine for the car as we speak....

Should be fun.

5 hours seems plenty! I have just made inroads into developing a business with some uni associates, so I will add this to the list of things that keeps me up! Looks like I will be in 911 land pretty soon! Just cant decide on the model, I am leaning towards 993t or 964t depending on the state of the market at the time and cars around. I would prefer 993t but there are not that many around! And they only make the GT in LHD damn it.

Great video! I did one of those from my passenger mirror. It didn't turn out very good at all. I'm curious what settings you used to create the video. The quality is good and the file size is small. I used Dvix, but I'm hearing about better formats out ther. Can you share your secrets?

Fender Cam for those who are dying of curiousity. I warned you it's bad, but it's only about 4mb. The color problems are the camera acting up.

TonyG, Good to have you back!

Can you post details (and hopefully links) to the bullet camera you used? I'm looking at suction cup based mounts for attaching a digital8 camera, but I think it's safer to put a small camera in the front like your pictures shows

Nice vid!

What exactly is a bullet camera? And if you don't mind telling, I'm curious how much the setup cost?

Warning! The link below leads to X10.com which is the WORST popup site in history.

I used this camera from x10 which is designed for home security use. It couldn't handle the vribrations that I put it thru. It is however $50. I would love to see someone elses camera for near the same price.

Yes, my car is an '88 silver rose turbo S.

The camera is about the size of a tube of lipstick. I bought it on ebay about 6 months ago, and I don't remember much more than that. I think it's resolution is 460 lines, or somewhere in that neighborhood. It was around $80.

Inside the car, I have an old VCR that was from a mobile home (runs on 12 volts... ) -- that was also from ebay and $20. Anyhow, I mounted the VCR in the spare tire well, padded with some foam, and it works quite well. For the audio, I ran a wire to my Chatterbox helmet communicator (which I use for instructing). The engine sounds are a little muffled that way, but, if I talk, that records nicely. I was concentrating too much during the race to talk...

Thanks Van, for the info. I've got a nice bullet cam I've hung off the passenger mirror and the gascap lid, but I hadn't tried the tow eye. I use a Sony Hi-8 bolted on the redline bar, but could not get audio to work (cam in VCR mode due to external cam) I bought 3 different mic's, powered and unpowered, but none worked..and I've got a chatterbox in my helmet bag! I'll try the chatterbox next! Thanks for the entertainemnt (Love the Glen, rode right seat but haven't driven it yet..bought trailer so I can!) and the solution! (Come to the 944Fest!)

Someone also asked about the software used... I used a Dazzle video capture device that has RCA in and USB out. Then I did my editing and titles in Intervideo Win DVD Creator, and saved it as a windows media file. I was pleased by both the file size and the quality.

Dan P, I used the extension cord that came with my chatterbox... I took apart the student headset so I could determine which pins were for the mic. Then I just soldered them up.
