Default 89 Turbo Timing

Hello all, I have a quick question regarding the timing timing belt on the 89 turbo. What are the intervals for checking the tension and/or replacing the belt.

I might be mistaken but my 86 951 had a "non-hydrolic tensioner" and the 89 has the hydraulic tensioner. Am I correct?

Thanks for the info, glad to back in a P-car...

The 89 has a spring tensioner. Intervals on belts are the same. The spring tensioner is NOT automatic, 86 had a roller for tension, 87-89 had a spring tensioner - sometimes if you "popped" it let it spring back, it set the correct tension if you were lucky. If not you had to tighten or loosen the tensioner by hand.

The 968, IIRC the S2, had hydraulic tensioners but I could be wrong, never owned either of those models.

Only the 968 has the hydraulic self adjusting cam belt tensioner.
