Default Venturi delete confusion (Longish)

Hello,

I have a 1986 951 that I am performing the venturi delete upgrade on. There are a number of threads concerning this conversion, but I think they may be incorrect in some elements.

Specifically there are a number of references to the three tubes brazed together as being the venturi. It is my belief that this information may be wrong as that part is called the "Control Line" part # 951 110 061 04 in the PET and it exists in all model years.

Part number 067 133 753 A, which appears to be a plastic Y, is listed as the venturi. This hose has three connections:
1. One goes towards the brake booster and stops at a white T next to the fire wall. (It appears to have a small line going to a check valve and then to a vacuum reservoir??) and then the large line continues to the brake booster.
2. Another goes to the large port closest to the firewall, facing the passenger fender (right hand wing), on the intake manifold.
3. The last line goes to the Idle stabilization control valve.

Now the kit I ordered from Lindsey includes three part numbers:
1. 951 110 217 01 (ISV to intake)
2. 951 110 221 00 (ISV to IC pipe (Between IC and intake))
3. 951 110 223 01 (Intake to Brake booster)

This last part, 951 110 223 01 (Intake to Brake booster), has me confused. Do I:
1. Eliminate the white T on the firewall. If so what do I do with the small line and check valve?
2. Cut the new part number and install the T with check valve.
3. Other

Thanks,
Matt

The T is NOT eliminated. You simply run the T to the manifold, and that's all that you do. I'll try to get a picture for you at some point tonight, if somebody else hasn't posted one yet.

Is this some sort of "modify part onsite" Porsche joke?

Sell me two parts for the price of one, 951 110 223 01 (Intake to Brake booster), and expect me to cut it in half for proper installation??

I performed the upgrade on several 951s using nothing other than injection hoses I already had at the shop.

I have the same kit from Lindsey ... it is going on my car tonight. I was planning on cutting the booster to manifold hose to accomodate the "T".

I checked with Lindsey and they confirm what you both have said. The T is a vacuum source for other components. On the 87 and latter cars the line does go straight from the large nipple on the intake to the brake booster. When retro fitting to an 86 the hose must be modified to accommodate the T.

Thanks for the help.

Yes, LR Stage III MAF. It actually only has ports for the BOV and the fuel recovery system. The recovery system for the fuel system is all gone, as we have the tank vented out the back of the car and the hard line that was at the back of the engine compartment is just plugged off the the J-pipe port is also plugged.
