What is VAF ? What is the difference between AFM and VAF ?

Volume Air Flow. Same thing as AFM really. Technically, it might refer to the AFM-voltage internal DME conversion into a volume air-flow number, like CFM.

Ford calls the AFM a Vane AirFlow sensor, and it was used on Probes and other Mazdas for a while. Same part, different name. Like an HEGO and an O2 sensor, or a MIL and a 'Check Engine' light.
