Question Question about DME

My 951 has a build date of 4/87 and was wondering if any of you guys would know whether it has the 24 or 28pin DME. I am thinking about upgrading the chip and need to know this. If any of you that have an 87 951 with an upgraded chip, could you please let me know how many pins you have. I have not had the chance to pull the unit out and physically check. From what I understand they changed the number of pins at some point in 1987. I just do not know which month they did it in. If it is a question that is really vague without actually pulling the DME and looking, then I guess I will have to do that.

If anybody has some info on this matter, I will greatly appreciate it. It will save me some time.

Thanks,

Michel

Hmm, haven't seen an original '87 computer with 28-pin chips yet. Some people who've had their computers replaced have done exchange of pins, like 28-pin '86-87 or 24-pin in '88+, but I haven't seen it come that way from the factory. Just read off the part# from the DME box and I can tell you if it has 24- or 28-pin chips.

Thanks for the input. I ended up just pulling out the DME this afternoon and found out the chip is 24 pin.

Thanks again,

Michel
