Default The 951 Lives Again....

Nine months ago my car went into the garage for some repairs and upgrades:

996 TT Brakes
MLS Head Gasket
All new Vac Lines
Lindsey Racing 3 Inch Exhaust
Factory LSD Gear Box (replaced Phantom Grip LSD)
964 CS Seats
Boxster Wheels / R compound BFG's

Anyway, the car out of the box was having some issues building boost, but after finding two small problems the car has come alive. The Vitesse Stage II Kit is running like a champ the car is feeling better than it ever has, I'll be putting it on the dyno this sunday (I hope) to further dial in in, right now i'm looking at 16/17 psi and the car is very quick. So much fun when that boost comes in, and it comes in so quickly.......

And as a side note, after I fixed the boost problems the car had one boost spike (before I re adjusted the EBC) and at 20 psi in 2nd gear the rear tires didn't stand a chance...... But she held together just fine and is now running as she should.

So although I'm leaving her up for sale I am going to have a hard time letting this one leave the garage. This car is just such a balanced vehicle, the suspension, brakes, and motor are all on the same page. I will have to go on at least one mountain drive before I say goodbye.....

Good luck getting the car up and running, it will be a good comparison if we can get the two dynoed on the same day.

I should be able to make it, sunday isn't a very busy day, I do want to watch the US GP, but other than that its wide open.......

Ian, I know it has been a long wait for you. Enjoy the car while you have it. When on the dyno, make sure 15psi max on pump gas

With a tank of some octane boosted fuel (not not the stuff from pep boys) I'm going to try and dial it in a 17psi, that is if I get the dyno time. Still waiting to hear back on that one.

But the car has gotten more attention this week and I feel that i'm fairly close to where I want to be, @ 17 psi the car feels strong, everything seems to be working very well together, a little fine tuning and it will be ready to enjoy.

Richard,

The charlotte 944 beer nights will be missed, if anyone else puts one on down there i'll drive down to make it....
and the HP war is over only if I sell the car, if not the 951 will always be looking to improve....
