Bosch 803 vs 811 injectors
Is it correct that the 220 bhp turbo has Bosch #811 injectors and the 250 bhp turbo S has Bosch #803 injectors?
What will happen if I place the Turbo S injectors in a non S car?

My '86 951 has Bosch 0280150803 injectors, which are said by some to be the ONLY injectors that fit the 951.
I'm not so sure, though, so am still listening and studying the topic. Seems to me, there are surely other low impedence peak & hold injectors that produce ~35 lb. flow @ 2.5 bar pressure.
In fact, I'm told by two local parts stores that "Standard" brand FJ416 injectors cross-reference as directly equivalent to Bosch 0280150803, but are ~25% cheaper.
An injector rebuilder in CA tells me the Bosch/Ford E5ZE-A3A injector is also a good substitute. Both of these are considerably cheaper than the Bosch -803 units, and are newer multi-port designs, said to be better at atomization and more clog-resistant.
BTW, I measured the impedence on my old stock Bosch -803 injectors with a Radio Shack digital multimeter. All four of them initially show ~4 ohms, then settle down to ~3 ohms. The CA guy tells me the Bosch -803 units are rated at ~4.5 ohms. Go figure.

I was told that though there are other injectors that have the same flow as the -803's, the impedance (4.5 ohm nominal) is an odd-ball value, and the commonly available low-impedance injectors are somewhere in the 2-3 ohm range. If you use them, there will be more current going through the output drivers in the DME and they can overheat and fail. Hence, the need for additional ballast resistors. Danno's site has some good info on this too - http://www.gururacing.net/
