How about this senario:
Exhaust coated inside and outside (Assuming yours is, HPC coat is inside and out). Coating is only good to 1500 deg (Cruzing at 3000 rpm, my EGT is a stable 1450 deg). Coating fails. Coating flakes off and travels thru exhaust to turbo. Coating flakes damage turbo.

How much do shops charge to ceramic coat a 2.5" bursch test pipe?
edit: since i live in california, and it does not snow, and hardly rains, am I just wasting my money getting it coated?

Yes, and you have nothing to catch flakes with, so it's totally not worth your time. See, with Randy's car we get to keep the flakes in the form of a flake damaged turbo.

I suggested we get Randy's stuff ceramic coated to retain heat in the exhaust. The pieces will probably last longer, but that was not the primary objective. Another thing to note is turbocharged cars run a little colder exhaust temps AFTER the turbo, and that coupled with a very mild climate and absance of salt, etc. would really reduce the benefit to be had from any type of coating as far as longetivity goes. Prices vary from place to place, but I don't think it would be worth your time or money to get them done.
