Uses CO2 in bottle form to directly cool the intake charge air via an expansion "bubble" mounted inside an intake tube. Expanding CO2 chills the metal "bubble" and that chills the air passing by it. I believe it won an award at SEMA or something a little while ago.

You can also use the same cannister to cool the IC itself. I dont think anyone here has used it, but the comapny DEI? make a how range of cooling products and think they know their stuff.

Interesting stuff. The cheap side of me wishes it wouldnt vent but be a closed system that activates automatically based on temperature. oh well

You could make a sensor triger it pretty easily.

 

I think you have to vent it or re-compress it. i think recompressing would not be practical.

i think is a cheap modification, but need buy another piece to install in the intercooler, all kit cost like 440.00$.

 

Sam there was a guy on the 996 turbo board that installed the spray bulb in the intake of his car and lost 50 rwhp. He ended up doing a cryo jacket around the intake pipe and found good results doing that. Really as much as people pay to remove all restrictions in their intake it is not wise to shove a bulb back in there.

 

Would love to use it as an IC or intake manifold cooler. With wrapping copper lines filled with circulating CO2

 

Billy W, that's the reason I haven't gotten one to play with - I've got plenty of liquid CO2 around to use to experiment, the restriction was my concern as well.

or you could use the A/C as the chiller and do a complete custom fab to wrap the IC + pipes with the cold condenser lines....or maybe not.

 

If you do this, the Nitrous Express ntercooler is cheaper. Around $370 new on ebay or most dealers.

 

The liquid cooled intercooler pipes sound very similar to what Lindsey is selling as their Thermal Heat Exchange Pipes:
