We ran one line up along the fender and then back around to the front of the rail instead of using a 180° fitting. The other line went along the firewall to the back of the rail. Also liquid teflon sealant was the only way we could get the NPT threads to seal. No matter how much torque we put was enough until we used that.

Stripping the bolts for the fuel rail into the manifold is very common - after the first couple of times I threadlocked some studs into freshly helicoiled holes and used nuts to hold it down.

Can you helicoil those holes with the engine in the car?

Yes after moving the fuel rail out of the way. I also placed studs there as described by Eldavo. Home Depot has some that work perfect
