Default Tips 2, presentation

As a relative new rennlister I`ve spent some days now going through some of the old topics , but never the less I would be great to have someone elses opinion about my plans...

My car is a 87 951 with 140k on it , m030spec and a k26/8.. previous I`ve had 2 944NAs

My currents update is: 3bar FPR, Lindsey DualP WG, adj boost controller, Lindsey 3" exhaust, a "cup" chip and kn-insert air filter, A/F monitor, VDO boost gauge.. and I`m waiting for my Zetronix WBO

I`ve also spent "big buck" on new suspension, sway bars bushing, and other bushings.. not all new though. I`ve went from the stock konis to some new progressive ones.. And I`m going to do a torsion bar job during next week.. I`ve replaced all of the CV joints, clutch is 1year old, and changed oil in gearbox, all new belts ..

power steering filter/tank needs replacing, and I might have a blown headgasket .. I have to take a leak down test today, The compresion test was fine and I`ve haven't noticed any oil or cooling loss.. But after my brother borrowed it and drove with 23psi . well better to be on the safe side. .
The headgasket I was planning to replace during the winter (or now !! ) among with some other gaskets. ( I have a small leak at the camshaft housing, I think this must be an fault on most 944/951 )
I`m considering a wide-fire gasket or maybe a 3 layer metal gasket , havent made up my mind yet.. this is also well posted in other treads..

Regardless of the Hgasket problem
,I`m planning to buy some goodies form my engine.. I`m not in for big HP and I want to keep the k26/8 Turbocharger. I am seriously considering a maf kit from either vitesse or Lindsey and a fuel upgrade kit from Lindsey with siemens 55# injectors, and some new chips. .. But I`m a bit confused about the tunability of these kits.
a lot of people are running Link or SAEMS (standalone...) !! But I don`t want to go down that road just yet..

I`m not sure how much hp the k26/8 could deliver air to? I was thinking in the direction of 300rwhp at 16psi Is this possible with the listed features?

I`ve add some pics:

I think you will have to run 18 psi to get close to the 300 rwhp mark.

currently running 14,5psi and 240rwhp .. ( with several runs with a g-tech pro ranging from 250-222 rwhp ) But anyway the figures is not that important but I would like some more than I have now. Had some more runs today after cleaning the IC and It is running fine, but a bit weak after 4500rpm!! . Boost comes on at 3000rpm so It is quite nice to handle. Ofcourse I could probably give it some more boost, but not until my WBO is in place...

Nice CAR!
thanks.. new mirrors is coming after their paint job, also thinking about changing the rubber wing at the back with a 968 style, after some guy used the current one as a chair!! ( he`ll said he pay for a new one soo )

but I would like some more than I have now
careful... I said this to myself too and now I'm shooting for 350rwhp. Maybe 400 by next year.

I am addicted to the go-fast crack pipe and proud of it... but my wallet is about to leave me for a Yugo.

By the way, your car looks great! Very clean.

Well... you never now don`t you, when fast just isn't fast enough

I`l think I stick with my plan as for now. Maybe better to aim low in the beginning,.. my knowledge about these car is at the moment not enough to pull out big HP.. . And Ì`m not in for the cost of a new gearbox yet .

Did a leakdown test today, and cyl 1,3 and 4 where less than 1% at compression, cyl 2 was less than 2%. Test was done after engine had been run to normal operating temperature.

Try Gururacing.net. Danno has a few 26/8's running at your goa, using chips and not stand alone.

Tried E-mailing him, But I know He`s very busy so no response yet..

I`m really keen about the mafterburner as a tuning tool , but not sure if it will work with the zeitronisk WBO.. but not sure how reliable it is either.. driving with a laptop at my side or in the boot is not an option, tune it and leave it..
