Default HELP - with braided steel fuel lines.

Where is a good place to buy these, brands, etc....

Where am I using these?

The steel lines that enter the engine compartment from the gas tank have about 7 inches of rubber line going to the steel fuel lines on the motor. I want to replace these with braided steel fuel lines.

With that being said, what are the connections called, what size etc... do I need to look for. I know adaptors are made for the US sizes to connect to metric fuel lines. I'd rather do this with pre-made hoses than make my own.

Thanks!

Lister Pauerman makes them for a really good price. He's sold quite a few kits to guys on the board and has excellent feedback. You can catch him @ pauerzone@***.net

I'm a big fan of Vic's fuel lines. My mechanics wanted to know where I got those. They were impressed too.

Look in Rennlist classifieds under 944 parts. Ad # 96. The picture doesn't do them justice.

Yup, Vic's lines are excellent. Already installed on one car, going on the other this weekend.

Vic's lines are definitely the best option we have, I just installed 2 sets this week.

are the SFR lines worth while? they are considerably cheaper then vics, however good his may be. Are they really worth the extra money?

Yeah, they are.

Personally I wouldn't trust SFR's fuel lines...

Would you trust a hose clamp around a braided steel fuel line to keep your fuel lines from falling off? Especially when going over a metal pipe with no flare!

I went with Lindsey's lines. A little cheaper than vic's...and all the function without the bling.

Lindsey lines are good as well but they are not braided. One thing to think about with the braided lines is that you need to check them OFTEN, they will rub other components and braided stainless does not do good things to whatever they are rubbing on.

Wow, I did not realize the SFR lines were hose clamped! After reading this I called, and they confirmed it. Man, thats worthless imho. it serves no purpose but to look purty. Of course part of the reason I'm buying SS lines is to look nice, but functionality is the main reason. The rennbay lines are not what I want either, so who else sells REAL connections besides vic? I geuss I'll stick with vic, but wait a couple more weeks for the bank account to have a little more padding. I do want the SS lines, as "ricer" as that may be, I really like to look, so why not spend a little more for it? Actually, why am i trying to justify myself?
BTW, today was my first day at the dealership, working on cars. man, thats hard work, but fun!
