well, since i want to sell my car, it needs a PPI, but i have a few questions about these.

1) approx how much will it cost?
2) what all gets checked?

if i find that the car is in decent enough shape that $1500 will save her, i probably wont sell it, i cant afford to sell a car ive spent $9500 on for $4000. no need to take a $5,000 hit when i can save it for $1500. agreed? plus, i will miss diving her like you wouldnt believe (ok, you would). shes so smooth and beautiful on the road........... DAMN I LOVE THIS CAR!

Should cost anywhere from 75-150, and not to be glib, but everything gets checked if it's a good PPI.

If you don't already know where to take it, the first suggestion is DON'T go to a dealer. If you have access to more than one independent shop that knows 944s, visit each one and ask to see their inspection form. It may be a typed paper copy or they may print out a computer generated copy. Ask some questions. Make a decision after visiting all that you can. You want to go to a shop that really knows this car.

yeah, ive got an independent shop here that charges $65 an hour, when i got my 4-wheel alignment last, they only charged me an hour for 1h 15min work. theyre great guys there. i sat and talked to the owner for the entire time i was there, guy knows a lot about our cars.

it may turn out that $1,500 or $2,000 may put my car in super-great condition. if so, i dont think theres any point in selling it, especially since im gonna take a $4,000 hit on the car

Any shop that really knows these cars will know what to check. I paid $200 and it was worth every penny

But I'd never accept a PPI provided by the seller. I'd want to arrange my own, carried out by a third party with no vested interest
