Rubber does expand with even a little amount of heat... The company I work for is the third largest producer of rubber products in the world, its just a fact of the compounds used. It needs flexibility which means it is a softer than ideal compound which means it "stretches" more. Its pretty simple stuff.

Like I said, I didn't notice a huge difference on the 944 - big difference on the GTO - twice as many flex lines and relatively long.

I couldn't be bothered waiting 3 weeks to get genuine parts ex Germany hence the ss - Brake fluid is replaced regularly so not a factor in this case.
