Default Front suspension clunk clank (video)

Have had my 951 for a year and it has always had a "clank... Clunk" from the front right corner when passing over bumps and the suspension unloads. Today, I finally found the source when I cupped my hands under the fender lip and pulled up hard repeatedly. Top of the strut tower. Ideas? Car has konis and is lowerd.. About 25" per the fender lip though the wheel crest.

Ideas on cause and solution.

I saw your post on facebook.

You will want to be sure that the upper strut nut is fully tightened. It appears the strut shaft is moving vertically within the strut mount and the nut is not fully tightened. Try that before assuming its the strut mounts.

I have a late car just like you and my strut mounts are fine and look just like yours.

turned out it was a 45 cent crush washer missing below the nut. Another previous owner nugget. I was looking at the koni manuals..pics on line and noticed a washer. Went out and checked ….sure enough. One side had it…the noisy side didn’t.

a nagging issue solved

It’s amazing how much better you feel about your car when you get rid of annoying rattles and clunks. Good catch.

Buy a new rear hatch seal. That should tighten things up again.
