NZ951,

The 60-1 HIFI I understood to have a 3" intake. The full 60-1 had the option of either 2.75" or 4". My 325 was 3.2L, and .82A/R was perfect. I understand with only 2.5L I can't go that large. I am thinking of running the T61. That seems to flow the best/dollar. I will see though...if your 60-1 JUST fits, I may have to rethink that.

Porshhhh951,

I am on Supraforums as whakiewes. I don't post much, mainly about brakes and such. People on there know a lot about turbo's, but little about the rest of their cars. I go by Turbo331is on Bimmerforums, and post quite a bit in the Forced Induction forum.

Wes,

I can tell you that the 60-1HIFI has a 2.75" inlet. You will need a reducer. A few guys are running the 60-1HIFI. Call Tim at SFR for more info.

I am quite sure the car was running 18 PSI of boost and not 18 lb.

The vitesse stage 2 makes about 350 plus something rwhp on a stage 2 and closer to 400 on a stage 3.

The kits vitesseracing is selling is meant as a package for people who don't want to do a lot of tuning themselves but in my opinion every car is different so they all need fine tuning.

You get the turbo, chips, MAF and powerperfect controller STM6 for a very good price.

The best dyno chart I have seen from the so called 363 rwhp Lindsey racing kit is slightly over 300 rwhp. And this kit does does not include a MAF. I was refering to this comparrison when I made my comment.

NZ951 has shown that there are better ways for tuning than the STM6, so there is a possible improvement right there.

I think with a stage 3 turbo with quickspool from vitesse plus Link standalone plus better intercooler you will be able to get around 400 rwhp with about 20 PSI of boost. Just a guess from my side. I have yet to see a dynochart from NZ951 so no comment there.

Where will you have full boost with the vitesse stage 2 vs stage 3, both with quickspool? I`m thinking about one of those kits, but do not know when of them to choose... I`m in need of much rwhp, but a quick spool is also very important!
Vitesse says 3700-3900rpm with stage 2, and 3800-4000rpm with stage 3. Is the difference in real life only 100rpm between them? If thats right, why dont everybody go for the stage 3 vs stage 2?

Turbofan has a good point about the Lindsey Kit. Its a whole lot of HP off 363... I cant recall anyone promoting this kit with good results. I should have the Dyno chart in a month or so. I am doing 90% of the tuning myself and I dont want to sit around at NZD50 an hour to have some monkey do the easy work. I also have to sort out my compressor surge issue first (JSM pipes and 50mm Tial should fix it). I would think I would be putting down 360RWHP at 1.2bar. Something like that anyways.

It would have to be quicker than that... I am getting nearly 1bar at a click over 3k.

I'm getting full boost on the stage 2 just a tick over 3k with the quick spool option. Vitesse product advertising errs on the side caution so people won't be ddisappointed Talk with them about what you want and he'll recommend something for you. I chose the 2 because I wanted that nice down low torque. I've yet to see a turbo that made as much torque over the RPM range with eequivalentspool-up characteristics.

I've heard alot of good things about Guru maps and chips, and alot of good things about Vitesse turbos.

Has anyone paired a Guru map (stage 2) with a Vitesse turbo. (using guru chips)?

Would that be a good idea?

Wes, I don't know who you are and I don't know which cars you are referring to (and it doesn't matter). I think you have your facts mixed up, as you think one of the Stage 2 did not have a quick spool. 99% of the stage 2 I sold had the quick spool. The only ones that did not were the early ones and they are in Europe.. Whose car did you ride in? As far as I can tell only one customer in NC. However at 18psi the stage 2 is around 350-370rwhp.. And with race gas you can run more boost and you will be making more HP.

The spoolup figures listed above are without the quick spool. With quick spool 15psi is around 3100-3300rpm for Stage 2 and 3400-3700 Stage 3. The power delivery of the Stage 3 is overwhelming, it's like being hit by a truck from behind. Stage 3 is better suited for track cars as it requires 75# injectors and loses some bottom end to gain it at the top. However if you are HP hungry, it's for you.
