Default Catch can empty

I drove my car for about 800 miles, and when I checked the catch can it was empty. How important is drilling the 1/2 inch hole where the seperator is? I never drilled it out I left it with the 1/4 inch orifice. Within those 800 hard driven miles I had to put in about two quarts of oil. Reno

I have driven about 2.000km and no oil in my can, and I drilled out the hole as much as possible. It will be a hassle to drill it out now really... given the turbo has to come off etc. I would only worry about it if your gaskets start to go due to increased crank pressure.

I use a universal air filter/separator in my breather line. I also have tied into the cam cover for vents. I catch a decent amount of crap in the separator after 1000 miles. Mostly thin waterytype fluid and gunk, note really oil as such. Very reassuring the its not coating my ic pies / turbo. I am at a loss as to why people pay magabucks for poilshed catch cans that don't work a crap. Get a proper 3/8 x 3/8 compressed air line filter, they catch EVEYTHING.

B951S-

Do you have more details about your breather system?

Seen various catch-can`s. I think mounting them over the exhaust headers is a bad idea, then it will be better to replace the washer fluid reservoir with a smaller one and have the catch can here !!? Or would that cause other problems. ? Length of line etc..

B951S, I `m very interested in your system... More info would be great.
