Default My Guru chips fits in modellyear?

Hey!

I have a set of Guru chips, actually the whole chipkit in my 951 1987.
Today i sadly enough replaced them with the original ones due to sale in original condition!
Damned what a big difference the chips make!!

So now when i'm not planning on buying a 951 in the nearest future i'm going to sell them.

But are they plug n' play in 87-88 220hp variants or the -86 aswell?

The car i'm swapping for is an Audi.....RS2

Best regards
Peter

There was a change in the pin count sometime in '87 I think. It went from 24 pins to 28 pins. If the chips are 28 pin, then they should work in all '88 - '89 DME's. If they are 24 pin then they will work in '86 - '87 DME's. Also, the chip kit for non-S turbos is different from the one's used in the S/89's.

Hope this helps...

I'm interested in buying them. Please let me know what you are asking. What pin number are your chips? How old are them? Are they the 16PSI or older ones?
Thanks

Hejsan Peter,

since you have a '87, most likely you have a 24 pin chip. You can sell chips either a '87 or a '86 car. For a '88 model year (28 pin chip) Guru makes two versions, for non S & S models. How much do you want for the chips ? (it's easier & lot faster to make business between Sweden & Finland)

You are swapping to a very nice car !

Thanks for the good response guys!

I'm going to sell them here in Sweeden or eventually in Scanidnavia if there is interest. I have to let my fellow citizens know about the power of the chips, right
And you guys can allready buy them so cheap in the states directly from Guru! A similar kit in Sweeden from the "famous" porsche mechanic Sanden costs about 866$....

Then I think I have the chips for the 86-87 cars, and they make 15psi.

I'm surprised Danno has not started selling them on Ebay to the global market.

Good point... but I wonder how he'd manage marketing them, though. Word of mouth and just letting people stumble on the chips themselves? Interesting idea, I wonder how well it might work with products for our cars.... hmmm

If someone buys those chips and have the wrong DME pin-count, I can swap them for you. Even upgrade them to the latest 18psi mapping as well. About $25 +/- shipping.

Ebay here I come !!!

Update!

The guy i sold them to tried them in his '86 and then the car doesn't start...Okej so i start question him about it, what he could have done to do this wrong.
The car cranks but wont start.

His car allready was chipped by a swedish tuning company, he figured out during the installation.

Then he says that there are more "holes" for the pins on the dme and klr..and that he can put the chips in other locations.
And he put my chips in a wrong number dme!!! :S

No wonder the car doesn't start...

Now i am wondering if my chips could have got hurt during this stupid mistake?

Thanks
/Peter

Update again!

Things sorted out! It appeared that the tuning company that had been tuning the car 6 years ago had made an adapter to go from 24-pin to 28-pin eproms.

Once removed and the gurus installed the machine started up beautifull!

So now i can consentrate on other things

Thanks
/Peter
