Talking Tried to drift the 951... (vid)

Ok, finally got to go out and drive on a track, it's been way too long already... compared to last year my lap times sucked, I was just too damn afraid to really push the car. I'm sure I'll get over it though ... anyway, since it was a private small-scale track event, we were able to use a part of the area for drift practise for a while. See me go!

(you'll need divx decoder to view the clip. it's 8mb (one minute))

Nice, but you didn't have to show us any more than the first 20 seconds.
I did an AutoX a week ago after owning my 951 for only a month. I haven't driven a P-car for 6 months and sympathize with you. My car scares me.
I'm sure I'll get used to it.

BTW my car is Graphite too. How do you keep it clean?

Wow.. how do you keep those wheels from rubbing? I'm having a hell of a time getting rid of tire rub on my car. (Yes, I know different offsets and you probably have suspension work.. don't answer if I already answered myself)

Sami,

Which Divx decoder is it? I have one installed and it seems to have no effect in Windows Media Player

I had to go to www.divx.com and download the latest codec which was 5.1.1. Nice video Sami it looks like you had fun!

Nick, I think it's mostly offset, then rolled fender lips and finally (maybe) alignment. Check the attached picture out, as you can see there's a lot of unused space in the wheel wells...

Eivind, lots of love and caring... graphite is almost as much a pain in the *** as black. I just wash the car pretty often, using good wax helps a bit (I'm a big fan of Autoglym). A few day's worth of dust and pollen doesn't really show up that bad unless somebody touches the car...

Kees, Tom - 5.1.1 should work, or at least it does for me Technically I didn't use DivX codec to compress the clip, but an alternative called XviD instead. It plays under DivX player 2.5.2 (included in the 5.1.1 DivX package) fine.

I'm sorry for posting a clip with such car abuse, I just thought the burnout was too cool

Sami, did you finally replace the caster blocks? That would make a difference in the turns...

Shorty, yep, the car has a turbo s transmission with lsd

Luis, new caster blocks are in, but I didn't have an alignment done yet... too lazy..!

Kees, it was a lot harder than I thought it would be! I guess having 250# front springs with otherwise pretty much stock suspension doesn't really help, the car wants to plow all the time...

Thanks for the comments!! I've got some clips from the track event, plus some from the autox we had a week ago, I'll try to get them out soon.
