Default Hand Held Wideband/Computer

Wow, same price as wideband, but does a whole lot more. Can record runs for a/f based on rpm and so much more, then download to PC.

Just noticed this:

Bosch Oxygen Sensor

Bosch LSU4.2 5-wire, wide-band O2 sensor.

Our price: $ 59.00

Couldn't this be used in conjection with a guage to be a wide band sensor??

I.e. the only important part,IIRC, of a wideband, is the 5 wire sensor. Then you just plug this to any air/fuel guage/display.

Yep...mine is STILL sitting in the box waiting to get installed with my new testpipe....very kewl unit and you can do all kinds of nice stuff with it. Going to leave the main unit in the box and reprogram the output with it so I can watch my Lindsey IAFM-1 while driving. Nice programmable setup and basically a simple data recording tool for lots of other goodies on the car. I found some electronics diagrams for building filters so you can datalog several other items yourself without needing some of their stuff (they released this info before they started selling the attachments).

Keep track of their web site's Support and Forums sections, their new realtime display and new firmware are really awesome. Their degree of product support after the sale is so much better than any other option out there. It's been a fun unit to use.

No, it needs some sort of controller and not just a gauge. When the car is running the sensor needs to heated, otherwise it will be killed very fast.

This Bosch sensor is also used in other wide band kits.

The beauty of this unit (Lm1) is that it can also be retained in the car at all times, cause it also will convert your wide band signal to narrow band, so your ECU (DME0 will still get it' sready to operate properly. And you can even mount a permenatent gauge as well. We sell it for 339$ .

The LM1 has many nice features, Data logging being one.. (I had to get a unit, of course from MySwiss ). I do not recommend using its narrowband output to feed the DME. The Wideband O2 sensor (all of them not just LM1) does not react as fast as the standard narrowband O2 sensor.
Keep the stock O2 sensor connected, there is no reason not to. Add a new O2 sensor bung in the test pipe and use the LM1 for tuning.
DO NOT INSTALL WIDEBAND O2 SENSOR WHERE STOCK SENSOR IS LOCATED.

Go ahead and get a gauge, you won't find another wideband that's better.

Narrowband is the stock sensor, cheap, and only outputs a useful accurate voltage curve right around 14.7 (stoichiometric). Wideband has much wider range of accuracy, and is the only option when you need to tune something that may not be a good a/f ratio at first.
