Default restoration part sanity check: anyone able to help?

Hi everyone sorry for going awol but i've been dealing with severe health issues and a couple deaths in the family since april... it's been rough and i had to stop thinking about getting this dream back on the road..

anyway, finally back under my car and something- specifically the underbody rubber coating where the part number
477803253 transverse strut is mounted... there' a huge bare spot next to it... what am i missing here? the trays?

picture attached, you can see to the left of the red lines there is no coating here and you can almost see the spot welds.

the shape of the missing portion is not consisten with it ripping upon removal, it clearly looks like something else goes there...

sorry, what am i missing?

I happen to have my car on stands. I don’t think anything goes there. Hope the picture helps.
