Arrow Wheel offset, 17" BBS BMW M5

My friend is getting rid of his 17" BBS wheels that are currently on his early 90's BMW M5.

Anyone know if they will fit my car??

They are 5X120. How much is he looking to get, I could use a spare set for the winter.

I do not think that you can adapt them to fit, you would need to redrill the holes for the wheel studs. Also I do not think they are hub centric like our wheels.

ec - 20mm is stock IIRC (18 or so). Might be trading the 540 on a newer one or an M3 in the next 5 days. Going to the dealer on Saturday.

H&R makes wheel adaptors that change the bolt patterns, but they're so expensive you pay the same to get wheels that actually fit properly.

Todd, you CAN get adaptors to make other wheels like BMW to fit. But you have to add the thickness of the adaptors to the required offsets in order to come up with an offset figures for the wheels. So let's say your stock offset is 52.3mm, then add a 20mm adaptor. You'll need 72.3mm offset on those BMW wheels to work. If you put the ones your friend is sellings on with the proper adaptors, they'll stick out about 2" past your fenders. Kinda like those mini-trucks from the early '90s....

OK, thanks for the info guys.

Danno, then I can jack up the back end of the car also

He is not looking for a whole lot and the tires are about worn so only realy getting the wheels. Not sure if you would get killed on shipping costs though.

I will get with him and post more info.

Oh, Danno, while we are on the topic of this car, the guy that owns it is looking to put a blower on it with in a few months and then some sort of piggy back or stand alone control.

He is familiar with GURU and your specific knowledge of forced induction from me and was interested in speaking with you to see if you could work up a MAP kit or MAP standalone that would work for this car.

M5s use a MAF setup already. There are blower kits on the market. However, IIRC, the compression ratio is pretty high and he is going to need an incredibly low pressure setup, so low, that I dont know if it is going to be worth it.

I've been thinking of changing the bolt circle because of the huge availability of wheels out there that are much cheaper, and lighter, does anyone know companies make wheels with the offsets Danno is talking about? I have a little more room to move the wheels out anyway if I stick to around 8" in the front and 9" in the back. How much does H & r want for a set of these?
