Default Hard start

Help. Any threads about cold starts? Starts sometimes after about cranking about 5-6 times. Did all tests on clarks garage. What should voltage on battery be when cranking?
Battery 12.5v,when cranking goes to 10.2. Is that too low to get the car started . Thanks.

Yep, too low. Fix your power and/or grounds.

I chased a hard start issue for more than a year... after the car refused to start a few times, I replaced the main positive cable to the starter.
Although the cable 'looked' fine, it was apparently corroded within and creating major resistance. Since then, no problems.

Also, as noted above, check the grounds too...

The positive cable from battery to starter and alternator have problems getting dried out and the covers cracking everywhere then water gets in and corrodes over the years. A new battery helps but will go bad faster as they should last 5-7 years without fading on a proper running and stored car.
