OT: what do the "power pulleys" do for you? Are they the ones on eBay that pop up from time to time?

Could be one of several problems here. First, do you have a habit of resting your foot on the clutch. Was the thrust correct when you rebuilt the engine. Is the Input shaft to long and pushing the crank forward. Another remote possibility could be the Crank Thrust face was repaired but not returned to the proper thickness. This would have shown up on the rebuild, if you did check the Thrust.

I opened up the motor today it look's like the crank is being pushed forward the bearing are gone and the crank is in bad shape. I don't think the input shaft is to long it the orignal as far as I know.
