Default Horsepower In a bottle

Yea, I know. We have all heard this before. I am only mentioning it as I saw this product tested on Speedvision and they actually saw gains.

It is an oil additive and, just like all the others, is supposed to reduce friction and therefore heat, and therefore gain back the hp lost from heat. They did a baseline run then ran it out around ,then pored it in and put it back on the dyno and saw appx. 5% (in this situation like 9 hp) increase in hp at the wheels. Supposedly drops 30-40degrees in the crank case.

Check it out. www.esp4additives.com

Looks like a new company.

I use this.
It works well, although it can be hard on your rod bearings when you add too much.

After reading this post I just saw it on "Sports Car Revolution" on Speed channel. They did a baseline dyno. Poured a bottle in and drove the car around. Did another dyno and supposely gained 9 HP. Just what I saw on Speed Cahnnel.

Yep , that's where I saw it. Anyone watch the show the day before where they took out a GT3?? Said it was the most impressive car they had tested. Now let them try a GT2!!

Well, if you stay to the 5% that it got, with most of us at the 250-300hp+ that is 10-15 hp.

Needless to say, I have spent much more money on much more ridulous things

I suppose this research was carried out by an independent professional lab? Or was it maybe another advertorial?

"hey Turbite do you add it to your gas or oil...? "

well... if you have too much quickly, it adds itself to your gas all by it self...

"I suppose this research was carried out by an independent professional lab? Or was it maybe another advertorial?"

Well, it WAS on an actual show... actually a pretty good one at that. But I wouldn't be surprised if corporate sponsorship made them skim some hp off the first run by having it run in bad conditions... then AFTER adding the bottled-stuff, making them better. Air temp/flow changes can be changed to give you slightly varied numbers... so I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case.

a lot of sae studies on gas additives have shown that the slight actual increases in fuel economy were balanced out by the cost of the additive itself. same with the oil additives.

having said that, the last of such studies i've seen were over 10 years old. and technology has most likely made several advances as far as lubrication and heat transfer in an engine. also, i try to be skeptical, but i always am hoping for "horsepower in a bottle". this would be pretty cool if it worked.
