[951] Lindsey intake system ... airbox question
Hi,
I recently bought this intake kit ...
and I would like to replace the cone filter by an airbox because I want to be sure that the engine runs with cool air and not with engine air (also without dust and so on.... ). In addition, I need something that is silent...
I saw this airbox (BMC carbon dynamic airbox) that could take air in the left fender like the original one (there is not much room as you can see on the first pict...) :
Anyone has an idea ?

Why not go back to the stock system? It sounds like everything you want to do could be accomplished with that.
Also, it's been shown by a number of people that you won't be sucking up hot air from the engine when you're at any reasonable speed. There is so much turbulence and air flow in there that you will be just fine with a cone filter in the fender like you have it. In traffic you might get hot air, but that doesn't really matter.

The stock system is fine on the highway (the hose goes all the way to the fender like westcoastprshe mentioned). If you get an "open air system" ie cone air filter, i guess a heat sheild is a MUST since heat from the engine would ruin and cold air comming in.

Hey, that's my engine in the early days. As the headlight area between the nose panel and fender is'nt air tight, you'll get some air in there going down the road for cooler air. You can always opt for the headlight duct panel.

I dont know why you would not just go back to stock? There is no performance gain of the aftermarket setup and to be honest, most of the people who have switched to the "hard pipes" have done so because they went MAF and didnt have much choice.
To the original question, no, nothing like that is made for the 944s at this time.
