What does a vent to air wastegate sound like?
My car has recently started making an atmospheric BOV type phoosh when I change gear, I know I have a small exhaust leak by the wastegate so wondered if thats what I can hear or if I have another problem/leak - my car has a recirc BOV.

Bengt, is that a custom job or does Ferrita supply complete bolt-on exhausts for our cars? I want to get 3" and there's a shop that sells Ferrita stuff nearby, but they're pretty clueless... I doubt they could do a proper custom tube for me..

Unfortunately the system is not mine. It is custom made by Ferrita in Sweden. I just wanted to show how it could be done with a flexpipe. I can check the price if you want.

make some calls to performance shops and you should be able to get the pipeing, let them do the measurements and build the system for you. That's what I did. Pipe and labor, about $350 for customi 3" cat back. No cat and vent. to atm. I was trying to get him to build and sell here but he said he wouldn't feel comfortable not having the person's car there to work on it. So, anyone in driving distance to Orlando, FL. You can get one also.
I am going to see him again about maybe doing some custom IC pipes and a J pipe.
Just sit down with the phone book one day and start making calls. Stay away from the standard muffler shops as most of them won't touch it unless you are running a cat.
In terms of sound, I think I posted earlier about vent to atm. It is only lound when on it hard and full boost, and it's not overbearing. Just a nice "roaring" sound.

Glad to hear that the sound isn't bothersome as some said it was, Todd.
I did check here locally and there isn't anything....even with a couple of racing shops in the area, I only found one shop will to do it and it would have lost right off as they didn't do mandrel bending, but the lack of a cat didn't phase them at all.

I have an idea!!! tim at sfr sells cat back 3''straight pipe for $ 149 take that cut before the mouting flange and weld on a muffler of choice(mine is the magna flow oval straight thru..only 100 at summit racing) and voila cat back system for only 249..as far as the test pipe just make your own using the stock flanges and honing them to 3 inch...same thing can be done with downpipe..cut off flanges hone them to 3''..weld flanges to 3 inch pipe voila....I am going to take off my existing exaust make some measurements and go to town..what do you guys think?..the only chalnge was the wastegate dump tube but I'll just let it vent straight down with a 2 stoke muffler/resonator Great ideas Songzzz and Toddk911!!!!!!

Been there done that. One bad thing about using 2stoke muffler is at the point when your wastgate starts to vent... it'll go "blap...(pause) blap (pause).. blap (pause) blap blap blap (pause)... blap blap balp blap balp.. blaaaaaaap.."

Thanks bro..you've had some cool and intersting posts..some really funny!.just trying to save money....this is my daily driver too..and I am in debt wich forces me to think....but I thinkit's a good idea..let's just hope Tim doesn't up the price on the pipe..it's a great deal..tim does good work ..I think I will just add a resonator or some other kind of real small muffler to the wastegate dum tube since the 2 stroke muffler

Turbo not quite running, still waiting on some new gaskets. Dont want to reuse the old ones. I cant wait! I would guess 360-370 at 1.4bar. Thats where I intend to run it eventually. Still have a couple of tricks up my sleeve yet. NZ is not bad, I dont think you would find a materialistic girl easily, plenty of mental ones though (I imagine that is par for any country). And a few dont shy away from the pies. I think around 15% of chicks are serious salad dodgers here.
