Default A-Tune Bolt on Wastegate Solution

I've read a lot of threads on wastegates and Tials and didn't see this question addressed squarely:

My original wastegate recently went from ok to pure garbage. If I have a 87 Turbo with the only modification being an A-Tune chip, can I run a Tial 38 wastegate with adapter plates without a Manual Boost Controller? (Note, I have the stock K26/6 turbo and no wideband O2). Basically can I use an F38 Tial as a single port wastegate with the stock cycling valve?

Is it naive of me to think that the A-Tune chip should reduce the overboost protection from kicking in versus the stock chip due to the "increased" 18psi overboost limit?

I'd like to keep the car as stock as possible and have no interest in spending mega bucks for an OEM replacement wastegate.

Yes. You just need someone to come along here and tell you what psi spring to use with the Tail.

Thanks
