Best location for EGT probe?

I have mixed opinions with my friends on where to mount the probe for my pyrometer. Some say in the down pipe nearest the turbo outlet. Others say in the piping between the manifold and turbo. What do you guys think?

Most of us put them in in manifold of #4. I put my bung in the top of #4, about 1 1/2 inches away from the head. A local muffler shop welded the bung, which he admitted was not very good, but he did it for free
Notice my 1700 degree ceramic coating.

.... I did the same spot thanks to MikeB.
Except I did not take into account lindseys catch can......
VERY TIGHT FIT.
I should of angled the sensor the other way..... oh well ... live and learn.
