Bump!!

Both the rpm and factory boost needle are not responding!!! What could be wrong? any DME lines to check?

is the car on?... Well, could be a wire in the back that got disconnected because if both aren't working that makes me think something the back just got disconnected.

I've checked the 3 connectors at the back of the VDO but that didn't help.

There's a plug on the engine wiring harness and the harness inside the car, I think it's red and 4 wires on an '86. Located down by the DME. It carries the signal for the tach and boost gauge.

Andrew, there is a weak link on the back of the instrument cluster. I had a similar problem with the speedo and it turns out the "flat plastic circuit" that connects on the back of the board is folded over for the connection. If the folded plastic no longer bows out it will fail to touch the connections. I ended up putting a roll of paper or something behind the bend to push it out and complete the circuit. hope this helps.
