Default Rear End Oil Leak

Hey all. For today's question of "where's that leak coming from", I present the following two pictures. Can you tell me what the most likely culprit(s) are so I can start figuring what needs to be done to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

You might want to consider something other than a hose clamp for the boot. The worm drive is an offset weight from the band/strap that could impart a harmonic to the rotating mass.

Hmm, good to know; what's more typically used in this case? For the moment I'll add it to the long list of "things the POs half-assed."

Also, any insight as to what is leaking and from where?

It looks pretty clear: The axle flange inside the CV joint has a seal which is leaking. Disconnect the inside CV, remove the center bolt in the flange and remove it. The seal will be exposed. Remove it carefully and replace it. BTW, if you want the proper clamp for the CV boot, just google CV boot clamp. A Thomas and Betts tie-wrap will work too if you wanna go cheap and easy.
