Saleen SC281 vs. 951 :)
Well, almost every morning on the way to work thereis a new, black Saleeen SC281 that I have been trying to "test" my new chips and exhaust on, but traffic and what not has not allowed us top do anything....until this morning.
We were on an open highway and traffic cleared. He changed lanes to get out of traffic and nailed it, I did the same about 2-3 car lengths behind him. Nailed it and chased him down. Got dead even in third then walked away in 4th and we pulled out about 120. It was a perfect setting for the 951; about 55 degrees and a 2nd-4th gear run from about 30-120.
For comparison see below:
Saleen SC281 4.6 2V 365HP/400TQ Engine
Saleen Series II "Roots" type intercooled supercharger
1/4 mile: 13.4/106 (time/mph)
0-60: 4.8 sec
0-100: 11.9 sec
I think the 1/4 explains why I was able to make up that much and pass in the mid/higher end. A 4.8 0-60, I would think, should be a high 12 1/4.
I was a little hesitant to acept the numbers Danno said the hp/tq numbers were with the 18 psi chips (330hp/375tq at the crank), but I guess it is pretty close. Plus, I now have the custom 3" cat back which I guess adds some more.
I put my window down to give him a thumbs up, but he drove by
p.s. He just got the car about a month ago as it had temporary tags when I first saw him.

Retail I saw was 40K+ Looks like they are pretty close to ZO6 in performance. So, off the line in a dead start, yea, he might have ate me up.

I raced a white s/c s281 a long time ago on 16psi. I would slowly pull away from him. very quick car I don't know if his was modded or not. My friend's robert and chris were chasing us in his cobra and they were filming with my camera. Although it didn't come out that well.....it looks like we are even......although a slow walk away in my book means our car's were very close. I could hear is superchager whine bigtime when I was next to him.
Anyways, if you guy's want I guess I could post it for ya.
Very nice kill todd. My hat's off to you. Those things can be pretty quick. You obviously had his #

Hey John!! Thanks. That means a lot coming from the "KILLS KING"
Well, it was a perfect situation for my car. Cool temps outside and nice rolling start.
Actually, I did some more research and found out there is a lower level S281 that only makes 285hp/315tq. I hope it wasn't his one I raced Still a nice kill, but......
Not sure if that is the NON supercharged one as I know for sure his said SC on the back bumper.

yeah it will say s281 and then supercharged right underneath that. Those things whine like pigs. Did you have your window's down? If so you would prolly hear if it was indeed the supercharged version or not. Looking at your mods you would hand a non supercharged version his *** so what you prolly raced was the real supercharged version. Seeing how by 4th you had him by a couple length's it sounds like you raced the real one.
Nice kill.
Turbocharged 2.5ltr-1
Supercharged 4.6ltr-0

Beautiful!!!! Words can't express the joy of times like that!!!! Doing the math on who spent more from their wallett makes it even better!!!! Thanks for the great story!!!!!
I took my toy out two weeks ago to the "Rice Cruise" area. Ofcourse, all the camaros were out too. 3 Camaros pulled along side during the night and the results were all the same. I jumped in front and kept pulling!!!! It was my first time racing my new 951 and I was impressed!
Also, a "Fast and Furious" Eclipse with nitrous from a tuner shop was on hand. He was representing a local tuner there and had all the looks and engine mods to back it up. I was just out of the Lindsey Racing shop myself and thought this would be a good test. So, he and two hot girls in his car raced me and my ugly mechanic in my 951. As I pulled up beside him and let off the gas to look over, he hit it.....Nitrous and all. "That cheat....." So, I hit it....in 2nd, closed the half car length jump to even, shifted in 3rd with a big wastgate "whoosh" next to his door, then pulled half a car length ahead before he hit his brakes. I was loving it!!!! My stock turbo with minor LR upgrades.....Fun!!!!

Yeah sure no problem. I will have to pull it off my camera and download it to my harddrive then upload it onto my server. It will be up by tomorrow morning most likely. Todd with your permission I will just post it in here if that's okay. This is your thread and your kill I wouldn't want to over shadow your great kill.

My cousin has a 98 Vette and raced my other cousin with a slightly modified RX-7. The RX-7 took him out after second gear. First gear the vette had a half car length lead and by second my cousin had caught him and was a half car length ahead of the vette and by third he started to pull away. Good kill, Reno
