996 sucks *****! That will be probably known as the last flat six as soon as the V8 997 arrives though... I tell you Porsche are losing it! Since the 993 they have gone downhill, fast.

The 997 isn't going to be a V8.

You can keep on thinking the 996 sucks ***** while you're getting spanked around the track by a GT3/GT2/996TT X50

Clarkson (Top Gear guy, hates Porsche's) said that the MKII GT3 was the best car he drove all year.

I am referring to its deviation from being air cooled, the dash looks and the front end when saying it sucks, not its performance. I can tell you that Porsche have tested a V8 911 in Queenstown, New Zealand.

yeah, till he drove the Zoagggagggrawwwgggg from Sweden. Sawe that episode last night! I love top gear. I think I am going to buy the DVD set.

Yeah, I knew I would get into trouble! Porsche do testing in isolated areas around the world, as you probably know. I local Porsche affilitate I know, that cant name, was involved in the setup of this testing.

ummmm. I beg to differ.

a V8 911?!?!?!?!?!?!? d00d, have you like, posted this, like anywhere else? u better go underground quick man, the porsche police are gonna be out to silence u and ur friend!

i love that top gear video of the mclaren f1 vs an R33 skyline...lol, talk about a smackdown. especially compared to a video of a 996TT vs a skyline...i mean, the 996 still beats the skyline, and knowing how awesome both cars are, it's pretty impressive to see the 996 pulling the skyline at full pelt! but compare that to the f1, its running, not walking away from the skyline .

Well Porsche always says "Screw the purists" and then all thr purists rant and rave about the departure from the norm. and then in 20 years when the thing becomes affordable everyone raves about what a bargain it is.

(ie 928, 944 etc )

So maybe when I'm 40 I'll buy a 2006 911-V8.

I am not a purist, looking at my mods and the fact its a 944! But some things shuld be not neg. what if they changed the crest to be more modern with fluro colours? A flat six in a 911 is just one of those things. Make a V8 in an alternative coupe, not the 911! Having said that, I would rather work on a V8 over the flat six lol...

I would not turn down a GT2 or GT3, but i'd prefer an older uber-porsche to any of the newer ones.
