Default Coolant, Coolant everywhere

Well I went down to look at my car in storage, with the thought that this weekend would be the time to put her back on the road, but there is coolant all over the ground under the front passenger side of the car.

So should I even risk starting her up? If the water pump is gone it isn't worth killing the new engine to save the cost of a tow. But if this is just some dried out seals I could just top things up and baby her up to the mechanics.

What do you suggest?

Why don't you just pour some water in to see where the leak is coming from?

Pour some more water in and see where it comes out. It could be any number of things. If it is just a hose, replace it, fill it up with coolant and drive. Try and find out the source and go form there. Pressure testing it would be a good idea too.

Was it stored in sub zero temperature? Was the coolant checked for mimum temperature?

Scary. I haven't gone to take mine out of storage yet so I hope everything is okay. Stories like this and the "rats 911" stories are what makes me wonder if I should just keep her in the garage where I can look after her better

Does your power steering pump leak? Fluid could be dripping down, eating away at coolant hoses. Just had this problem last month.

I got the car to the shop no problem. I topped up the coolant and took an easy drive and luckly got there with pleanty left in the system. They will take a look and I should know what happened exactly tomorrow morning.

I am hoping that it is just a loose clamp somewhere as we had the engine out last fall, and had to race to get it back into the car in time for the last DE event of the year.

It was great to get her back on the road though... every time I get behind the wheel of this car I just can't get the smile off my face, even when I am driving towards another repair bill!
