how much HP from 40lb/hr injector
Hello all, currently I have Siemens 40lb/hour 2.8ohm injectors on my Callaway 944T that I just got cleaned and flow matched by Marren. I have been reading some previous posts and I ran across that 951 stock injectors are good for 320RWHP...that true? Everywhere I have been calculating: (Marrens' inj. selection guide, and my TEC2 Tuning Wizard) states that 40lb/hr will only give ~ 200hp! I know they should be good for more than that because OEM run like 34lb/hr correct(?) and running 217hp.
I want to run around 300-330hp for I feel that is about the max I will get out of the IHI RHB6, but I am planning for more power in the future so I would rather go above and beyond what I need to now in regards to flow. I was thinking along the lines of 72lb/hr or 86.
So what will my 40 pounders give me for now?
Thank you all for your time and insight!

Yeah, 40-lb/hr would be good for about 300-310rwhp at 100% duty-cycle. But you don't want to push them over 80% since they'll overheat and get unreliable. Your DME will also get hotter running at that high duty-cycle as well.

No more DME here, just a Electromotive TEC2, but yes 100% Duty Cycle is not acceptable. I was just reviewing some old posts on injectors and a lot of info from you Danno. I see that the OEM injectors are around 34.6lb/hour. I am bit confused on selecting a BSFC (brake specific fuel consumption) though. I seen on RC Eng and other sites to set if for .60 to .65 for turbo cars, but I read some posts here that say to set it at .55 to .48.
Horsepower goes up when using less BSFC with same sized injector but I thought a higher setting would be needed. On RC eng site it says to set a NA for .45 to .50. I will start out using the .60 I guess when tuning. I am fairly confident that I have a HV fuel pump but will check to make sure. I guess I will sell the 40lb/hr and search for something larger. 72lb/hr would be nice.
Take care!
