Yup, it is # 1. Like that once you put the rest of the assy on and tighten the bolt it will drive the gear into the oil pump. Sorry about my earlier confusion.

From the factory manual...(same as Haynes). Your No. 1 is correct.

Tks for help! Rollers and belts installed, now I have another problem....

I turn the CRANK by wrench for a few revolution, looking at the belt movement at the cam sprocket, I noticed that the timing belt actually moves forward & backwards for about 2mm per rev.

Is it normal?
