Default DEAL (Racks from Meridian Auto)

Guys...
Just wanted to give a thumbs up to Meridian Auto Parts. I thought I was screwed on a power rack price till I checked the archives for rack prices. I was going to go Vertex for $400.00, but I talked to Scott at Meridian and he told me $290.00 for a short rack-(without inner tie rods). I was like WOW! I told him alot people were talking about Meridian on the Rennlist and he said that he will give me another $10.00 off the already great prices! So $280.00 plus a great shipping price that included the core return.....

You can rebuild it yourself for $70, by buying the kit from Rennlist.

Also, why rebuild yours, when you can get a really well rebuit one with a 3 year warrenty?! the warrenty alone would sell me...

The PO replaced the rack on my car a couple of thousand miles ago. Original part from ZF replaced at Porsche ~$1.800.- + labour.

HoBoJoe, as a counterpoint, why not rebuild mine, when I can rebuild mine for 1/4 the cost and know it'll be as well done or better than theirs? I certainly wouldn't need a warranty then, dirty fluid from a dirty rebuild is the only thing that'd kill a rack within 3 years, otherwise I'd expect more like 10 years from my rebuild.

Boostguy,
I did ask him about the manuel racks for my turbo S. He gets them every once and awhile and was out at the time. When they are in stock he charges $400.00 with no core.....Not bad

The kid that owns Meridian is freakin young. He knows some guys I went to highschool with! I met the guy... Allright business. But he claims he has the fastest Porsche in NA, which is nowhere near the truth. People on rennlist have faster cars. He displayed that 996 TT at the Euro sunday event you may have heard me talk about before on here. The every sunday thing at Village coffee roasters...

I set up a Meridian group buy about a year ago and am currently running one of their racks. They were good to deal with, and I haven't had any problems yet.
