The valve on the tial faces the crossover pipe or to the front of the car not the back of car it you will.

Oem style pushes down, tial pushes in on valve.

Who did the install?

The above picture is from a modified OEM 951 Lindsey wastegate. The Tial wastegate (and all real wastegates) is exactly OPPOSITE of this.

Daniel, the picture you posted and Sam's is correct. The Tial's valve needs to face the crossover pipe and dumps out side port. This is opposite of the stock wastegate, which has the side port facing the crossover and dumps out the valve.

Also do not use thin vacuum lines for the wastegate control. It's too thin and will expand under boost and cause you lazy regulation cycles. Only use a thick line like the original ones coming out of the banjo-bolt and like the ones going from the CV-cycling valve going to the wastegate. Fuel-hose or auto-transmission hoses in 3/8"-OD, 1/4"-ID is perfect for this purpose.

Another test is to verify the seal on the upper and lower diaphragm chambers. Ricardo (Rick951) recently had a problem with overboosting because the seal on his lower diaphragm was bad. It was leaking, so boost-pressure underneath could build up enough to open the wastegate valve. He was hitting 25psi+ under full-throttle on chips mapped for 15psi. Just hook up a bicycle-pump to the upper & lower diaphragms (one at a time) and verify that they each hold presssure of 15-20psi indefinitely with no leaks. The pressure at which the valve starts to open is roughly equivalent to the bar-rating of the spring.
