Default Symptoms of vacuum leaks

So what are they?

I have the lyndsey kit to fit, but is there any point if i dont have any leaks?

There also seems to be a pipe that heads off into the bulkhead from a 4 way branch near the FPR, where does that go?

What are you using to measure it?

Back to the point of the thread, clearly people seem to have a wide variing degree of heads in the vac pipes.

So what is it that happens if you have a few vac leack and you are loosing pressure?

I replaced the vacuum hoses as part of my quest to figure out why my car was failing the emissions test. One thing I noticed was that it drops less boost around redline now.

It will also run up your gas mileage. I'm going to do this but not going with the Lindsey kit.

17 inches vac at idle is pretty good.
20-21 inches is by far the most I've ever heard of anyone getting.

A lot of things can happen depending on where the leak is and how big it is.
You will run a little richer at WOT (because you're measuring air thats escaping)
You can have little to no boost. (if one of your wastegate lines is leaking)
You can have a crappy idle, boost stumbles.
All sorts of things.

measuring with my autometer. um, i guess it depends on how major the leaks are. if they're only minor, the car will prolly just run a little rougher than you'd expect.

if you blow off a vac line though (which is what's happening to mine) then your boost will start going all over the place (spiking and stuff) and your idle will prolly be rough.

did you get your dyno done yet? one of the reasons i could tell i'd lost a vac line was because the boost measurement changed depending on where the dyno guys measured it from the manifold. made it pretty easy to track down the culprit.

your car will also stall and buck at high rpm.

Not done the dyno yet, but hopefully soon.

I really dont think i have any leaks. But everyone seems to say that theres leaks like a seive using the hard lines.

Suppose i just have to bit the bullet and fit the new hoses and see if there is any difference.
