Question fan assembly

Am I the only one who has a bad time getting the fan assembly off of the radiator or is there a trick to doing it easily. Good ole Haynes says take the bolts off and pull it off. Well, I seem to have trouble getting it passed the A/C compressor, oil cooling pipe and various radiator protrusions. Is there an easy way that I'm missing?

I had to angle the drivers side out the bottom and snake it to get it out. I presume that you removed the bottom rad. hose already but if you haven't..............

Yes, that's how I've gotten it out in the past. I was hoping to remove it without draining the radiator. If you could only drop the lower radiator mount then it would be very easy. Why are there the 4 allen bolts on the lower mount? You can't remove the mount without first removing the radiator...I assume.
