manual popup lights?
Hear me out before you laugh...
I want to get rid of the whole popup light mechanism.
That motor and big bar across the front of the engine bay annoys me.
I drive at night about two times a year with the p-car.
So I thought about getting rid of the lights, and using the fogs as driving lights, but I feel this may be a bit unsafe and probably isnt legal.
(not that I'm worried about legality, and not that my current head lights are safe)
What I would love is to have a manual popup mechanism.
That is, if I'm stuck out late and I want to drive it at night, I have to get out, pop the hood, and raise the lights myself.
Wadda ya guys think?

why dont you just get a gt-racing vented nose panel w/o headlights and a pair of euro driving lights w/100wt bulbs and relays.thats what im currently doing right now.saves alot of weight in the process.there are a few including me that have done this for the street on the forums.

Driving with only the lower fogs/driving lights regularly is dangerous for you, and more importantly, for other drivers. If you're going to very very rarely drive at night, I might think about it, but for regular night driving even 100W Euro driving lights are too low to the ground. Aiming them up in order to get good lighting will run the risk of blinding other drivers, and keeping them low will not give you a pattern you need for decent lighting. Do all of the rest of us a favor and don't do that. Just my 2¢

I've considered the no headlights, but Its questionable to begin with.
Plus I'd have to buy the panel, paint it, put the racing stripe on it, put the logo on it, buy the 100w euro bulbs and probably run new wires.
I'm shooting for the halfway solution.

go check out the headlight setup on the 924gts it eliminates the popup lights, but still has headlight capability. GT-racing has the parts to make this, but they seem pretty expensive. maybe someone will have them cheeper eventually

NZ951 you are correct. The 924GTS setup will not work due to the different frontal curvature of the 951.
