Hey - these things are RARE over here!
Talking to my Porsche parts man I was having a little whinge about him not having an air cleaner elment in stock. He was able to get one overnight from Melbourne (Australia) - I'm in Brisbane, about 1500km away, but said that there weren't many 951's around. To prove the point, he showed me a listing for all 951's officially imported into Australia:
1986:110
1987: not imported
1988:25
1989: 38
1990: 15
Total: 188
I reckon that makes them rare vehicles - they're certainly more expensive here than in the States....

Amazing driving around i still bump into a few of them though. Must admit i get lots of "wow nice car" . The amount of Boxters i see on the roads these days Makes driving the 951 a real treat. Had two guys in a beutiful 911 Turbo pass me the other day and both guys were hanging out the window trying to get a good look at my car. I find it amazing what prices they go for in the U.S. My god i could be driving a Turbo S In pefect shape for what i payed for my 86 here. AH well least were part of the few! and in the car world thats always nice.

Rob in Oz,
Coincidence....I was just in Brisbane a few weeks ago for work. Tried to keep an eye out for 951s....and no luck spotting one....
I do like the UTE V8s. It would be a fun thing to drive in the U.S. I understand it may happen if this whole US-Aussie free trade thing goes through in our Congress.

add me as well, I have been told by some people involved with the importing that the 38 951s allocated to Australia that this was for the south pacific
and only about 13 to 15 ever made it in. One has been exported
to the UK, some would have been writeoffs ,so there are not to many
left.
BTW , this car left the showroom in 89' at approx $140K by the time
options where included, in todays money that is about $250k. this
puts into perspective the value and performance of this Porsche..
