John that is Aussie dollars, one equals 75c american (was 80c earlier in the month). Still expensive cars here, all due to government taxes. My 1990 was $149,000 without options when new. Thats $111,750 American dollars in 1990!

glen2002,
I have not even seen a 90' 951, they are a very rare car here. does your car have the cast or forged wheels. Does it have any other mod's over
the 89' model.
thanks, Russell.

Hi all

After 15 years of owning a an 83 NA, I upgraded to an 86 951, white with 220K on the clock. Seems to go well but is also bone stock.

What upgrades would people recommend. I was thinking of starting with with a bigger exhaust system since a 220K cat is sure to be restrictive (no emissions testing here)

and new front struts with an alignment with a bit of negative camber in it.

Car seems to run rich on WOT. Replaced the O2 sensor but no effect.

Any suggestions?

Hi Rucool, it has the forged wheels and the 968 spoiler. There are numerous little detail changes over my 86, but have not compared it to an 89, though the 968 spoiler is a giveaway. Haven't seen another 1990 myself, but then with only 15 cars between 20 million people, no wonder! If you ever want to compare cars, I am happy to catch up

Dyson, I would get the GURU chips by Danno on this board, best performance mod you can make for your car. Welcome.

I live on the Gold coast. The place i bought my 951 from had one more, and other than that i've only seen one other cruising around.
Seen a few N/A's, but only the 3 turbos (including mine).

Which i guess isn't bad out of 110 Australian delivered ones.

Quite the interesting thread here. Makes one wonder the % of 951 cars that are represented on Rennlist here.

And holy @#$"*%$@#!$ that's a lot of money for a 951 in almost any currency.

Kurt, I would hazard a guess that 20% of Aussie 951's are Rennlisters, from other Aussies I have spoken to on here, or people in the flesh I have mentioned it too who read Rennlist. i know of probably 7 or 8 who havent
been mentioned in this thread and then people like facboy and myself who have two.

You are right Kurt, they were a lot of money in any currency and then did I mention options were usually paid for in telephone numbers here

I found another 86'951 yesterday at one of my clients in Western Sydney
so we are starting to track them down.

Can add mine to the Aussie list and a neighbour who had a NA for a few months, liked mine so much he bought himself a turbo too. That's got to be getting us towards 100% hey. Strange thing is that despite their rarity the values took a major tumble over the past 5/6 years. Entry level price now is a reasonable $17k-$30k+. People tend to frightened off, for fear of the maintenance costs. As somebody here said before "...its not the cost of owning an older Porsche but the cost of keeping it...". Hey Glen we'll have to catch up soon. Dan.
