Default 997 rims on 944?

I have a set of 997 rims that I’d like to use as wet tire track rims on my 1988 944 Turbo. I checked the fit and the lugs line up but it will not sit flush. Anyone ever put 997 rims on a late model Turbo?

To fit late model Porsche wheels on a 944, the fronts need a small spacer to accommodate the hub diameter on the car versus the center bore on the wheel. Once you do that, they should fit (debates about 18 or 19 inch wheels on a 944 aside...).

I have a set of 02 turbo hollow spoke 18” twist rims on my 951. I used 87 and later offset 951 front brakes and suspension (M030 was my option) with 7mm spacer and used an 86 rear wheel hub with 86 951 rotors and 87 951 calipers and ground down some bolt ends off inside the wheel well. Now use 295 30 18 rear and 245 35 18 front.
