The standard FPR upgrade that many of us have is the Bosch 3-bar regulator from a BMW E30 with the M20 6-cylinder engine. It bolts right on!

Thanks for that. Guess I'll look for 3.0 fpr to start.
I also have a complete spare 2.7l 944 engine. Any bit on that I can use?
I had an 88-951 many moons ago. It was chipped 3" exhaust from the down pipe, no cats, adjustable fpr. That car was a bullet. It would pull vacuum at 250kph and still kick with the boost came on.
This 951 is more of a long term restoration. Guess I'll need to spend some cash on it.

Fellas, I know this is a board for cars. However, I’m from Seattle and can tell you firsthand that COVID-19 is real. It is decimating older folks here and they have died at a very advanced hospital near me. There is no cure, your body alone will decide if you have respiratory failure. Lung scarring is also an issue. Infection rate is very high (3x flu) and it is 10x deadlier. In Seattle, we are now social distancing (closing schools until at least April 24), libraries, public spaces, events over 250 are closed. Microsoft, Google, Amazon, etc are working from home. Restaurants are closing.
Why? Because the US was unprepared with lack of tests and political will to contain the virus. So, we have lost that opportunity and are in the mitigation phase which is to SLOW the virus so that our hospital system isn’t overwhelmed. Google Italy COVID and you’ll see. New York has the same issue. California is close behind.
If your own experience doesn’t match this, do not believe that it’s not real. You may be isolated where you live, but I think I can assure you that Seattle and other cities are doing everything to keep others, perhaps you, as safe as we can by trying to stop it here at the front line.
As a public service and as a good citizen of your country, please do not underestimate COVID or act like it’s not real.

Yes it's real. Yes this is a car forum. I'm sure everyone on this forum has heard or had some experience with the virus. I was already sick at the end of January. Fever, chills, cough stayed home for a week as per doctors instructions. The risk is increases with age and the number of risk factors. F I want ted to discuss the virus I would not do it here. I really don't want or need anymore virus related news here.
The virus has enable me now to spend more time with my cars and get paid. That's as far into the virus chatter as I want to go in this thread.
So please. More 944 turbo content please.

It appears the MBC I bought is defective. Almost no metering as in adjust it. It's either open or closed. I ordered a new on.
It will take a lot of work and ¥¥¥ to get it back to an all original look. I tried wrapping the dash but I can't seem to get erase where I had to make a cut and seem neat the dash vent. The A pillar trim is cracked. I dyed the door cards black but they still don't look right. And then there are the seats which I sewed inserts in myself my hand.
I guess to do it professionally will cost about $1000.
Then the paint here is minimum another $2000.
I remember my first 944 's interior,an 87 with 250,000 miles, was kinda ratty as well.
Hummm.
I do like the 2bar boost though.

My MBC--a bleed type like on an air compressor--does absolutely nothing until what seems like the end of rotation then all of a sudden a major almost full-on boost signal cut off! At this point a 1/4 turn is a big adjustment. So sensitive.
If you're referring to the 2 Bar reading on the dash gauge, that is actually 1 bar (where it says "1" is actually "0" and anything less is vacuum)

I drove the 951 last night. Wow what a difference the thicker upgraded sway bar from the 89 makes. The car felt so much smoother, quieter and easier to driver.

Changed out my front Weltmeister sway bar bushings. Love the handling on my car.
replaced my front interior dome light bulb.
My o2 sensor shorted and popped the fuse. Same fuse controls the fuel pump so I was stranded on the side of the road :-/. Cars driving again with the o2 sensor disconnected.
Working on claybaring the entire car too.
i desperately need a garage. It’s raining in the Pacific Northwest and it’s hard to complete fun projects.
edit: I have been driving A LOT. Going out for cruises and hitting the twisty roads.

Great. Pics please.
I plan to recover my dash, a-pillars and door cards. Also touch up the paint.
The 951 is quite the looker compared to the Boxster.

Ok. I'm running into an aesthetic issue.
I've been trying to change the color of the door card from beige to black. Each time I dye it, it come out shiny even with flat black spray dye.
I cleaned and prepped the surface until it's loose. What am I doing wrong?
I re-wrapped the dash upper and lower which look a lot better. Now I want the door cards the match. I have extra material to replace the door card vinyl but I don't know how to make that seem around the edge.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

How did you "re-wrap the dash"?
Boy that pic of the Boxster & the 951 makes the Boxster look so big & bulky! Then again.. Porsches have been getting a little bloated, eh?
But.. I snagged one next to a Boxster that made my 951 look like its big brother...

I’m curious about that too. Did you pull the dash, or recover it in place? I’ve been thinking of taking this one on, sometime after the upcoming balljoint project, and have seen write ups suggesting it can be done in place.
